My conquest to read read read, has really not been working. I got a second job, so I have been super busy with work (at Noodles and Company), and have been trying to keep up with friends from home/family. But I can try for a little update:

• I am re-reading The Unbearable Lightness of Being and it's tremendous, even the second time around. The mix of philosophy from Niztche and others, with fiction, makes it for a great read. It's definitely made my list of all time favorite books.
• Christmas Eve was horrendous. My mom got drunk and she's been really depressed lately and I love her to death but i am truly worried about her. My cousin, John, who my cousins found out via facebook is gay, was being made fun of by all of my family, behind his back mind you. For example, my one cousin Kristen, asks if anyone wanted any sausage, and my cousin Steve, 17 years old goes, "John probably will have some." Later, my cousin Lauren said that she got John in the grab bag, and I innocently ask what she got him and her reply was, "Brokeback Mountain." Wow. I am just stunned. Now if anyone knows my sister, she has a girlfriend, and has been dating her for sometime. This did not make her feel comfortable either, because she hasn't come out. And she doesn't think that anytime will be a good time, knowing everyone will say something. It was really hurtful for her, and even for me.
• I bought books today, and I am quite excited for my ENG360 writing for social change class. This will be amazing.
• My apartment has been kept clean, and I am also excited about that.
• I am spending New Years Eve at home, out with friends, and I cannot wait to see them. It will be good to open the New Year with them :)

That's my story and I am sticking to it.
